John Lyon’s Charity approves three-year grant to support the development of the youth sector in Brent
Earlier this month, we received confirmation of our successful application to the John Lyon’s Charity to carry out assessment audit tools amongst children and youth providers in the London Borough of Brent and support the Directors of those organisations to identify and address key barriers to achieving financial sustainability.
John Lyon’s Charity has over twenty years of history promoting the life-chances of children and young people through grant-giving to groups and organisations in north-west London boroughs. It focuses on the arts, sport, youth clubs, families and special needs and disabilities.
Firm Foundations, the three-year project that we will begin in the new year, is based on the principle that by supporting the organisations with the highest potential to tackle inequalities, we can enable them to operate more efficiently, develop the skills to enable their organisations to adopt more enterprising behaviours, deliver and measure longer term sustainable impact in their communities and operate with more independence. All of these capabilities will make them more robust as organisations and able to move confidentially towards financial sustainability. We are fortunate to have a strategic partner in CVS Brent, which enjoys close relationships with its membership community and voluntary organisations, and, through this partnership, we will be able to tap into and progress a wealth of experience, passion and commitment for the wellbeing and progression of children and young people in Brent.
