Clearer Thinking – February 2024
As we welcome February it marks the transition from winter to spring in many parts of the world. As the cold winter months come to an end, February brings the promise of new beginnings and fresh starts.
I love seeing the flowers start to bloom and the days getting longer. It always inspires in me a sense of renewal and rejuvenation. It fills me with hope and optimism for growth and transformation. And so it’s an ideal time to embark on new ventures, set goals, and embrace positive changes in our lives.
AMPACC Makes a Huge Difference and Delivers REAL Impact
Last year we supported over 45 voluntary organisations across 9 boroughs around the country to carry out financial analyses to improve their strategic financial decision making and ensure they can understand, ask for and recover the full costs of their services.
We achieved real financial impact for their charities by taking them through a process to understand the charge out rates they need to use to calculate their services accurately, to present these in a compelling way externally, and we enhanced their ability to make strategic financial decisions that enabled them to assure greater financial sustainability.
We got to know them so well that several asked us to stay involved on a retainer basis.

Real Focus For Us in 2024
In discussing with our clients their feedback on our work, it is clear that the sector cannot act alone. You have repeatedly asked how funders can be part of the solution and we agree that more needs to be done to increase their willingness to fund the full costs of your services.
This has become a key priority for us, and I will be keeping you informed of our plans to engage more funders in a conversation about sustaining the sector. This will include sharing our learnings from AMPACC in 2023 – stay tuned, as the emerging findings are already starting to tell a really compelling story.
