CTC expands its work into West London
We’re delighted to announce a new partnership with the London Youth Development Trust, which works with children and young people at-risk of social exclusion in and around the White City estate in West London, currently one of the most deprived areas in the city.
LYDT is particularly keen to see its annual Vybz Mas project expanded to meet the demand of its service users – each year, they currently run a series of workshops in dance, cooking, Dj-ing and art culminating in a parade and performance at the annual Notting Hill Carnival. With a focus on celebrating cultural diversity, family and heritage, it also organises a series of family days including beach trips, a launch and post-carnival certificate events as a way of bringing families together and celebrating achievement.
Roz Massiah, Director of London Youth Development Trust sees the partnership with CTC as a way of increasing their local impact on communities: “This is a really exciting time for us to explore what more we can do to meet local demand. I’m confident that CTC will add value to our much needed services and help us to improve the lives and future chances of those in the local community.”
